GrandPad’s own site now publishes the plan prices and core tablet features. The honest choice turns on whether the household wants a purpose-built screen and family-media experience or wants to preserve the phone habit already in place.
Your loved one wants to see faces, not just hear voices
A tablet-style device is built around video calling and photos in a way a phone-answering service simply isn’t. If seeing family, not just hearing them, is the priority, a device built for that job is worth a look on its own terms.
They’re comfortable adopting a new device with support
For someone able and willing to learn a new piece of hardware — especially with a family member helping set it up — a purpose-built device can do things a phone call alone can’t, like sharing photos directly to a screen they check daily.
